i'm labeling this a meme because it totally is. a good one. a real good one.

Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

well, whether you do or not, that's from september 2007, and the girl's name is courtney. she was(/is? i have no idea + it's unimportant) ryan's friend, and this was her birthday party. she also mentioned him in her journal in 2006 (his ~queer costume, lmao. obviously summer tour) where she coincidentally mentions z berg from the like.

in conclusion: ryan ross has been connected to z/the like/hipster culture since 2006. just because we're seeing pics of him + them NOW, when people are good at stalking the fuck out of facebook and such, doesn't mean he hasn't always hung out with these people. he has not ~changed drastically~ and if you liked him in 2006 but hate him now for a reason having to do with the people he's friends with, maybe you should re-evaluate your hatred?

As a fic writer and a genuinely nosy person, I love knowing when things happened and where they happened in this fandom. I couldn't find any timelines that extended past 2007 (extensively and comprehensively), so I made my own!

indefinite hiatus.

i have thought about making this post for a long, long time, and i never figured out what my angle would be. all i know for sure is that 1) i love brendon urie and panic at the disco, 2) i love keltie colleen, and 3) brendon and keltie are awfully similar. knowing this, i've come up with two different takes on this post:

1) brendon and keltie should date, get married and have really precious, talented children

OR

2) there is a reason ryan ross was/is attracted to both of them

HERE IS WHERE I EXPLAIN WHY JUNE 24TH, 2006 WAS A DAY OF EPIC PROPORTIONS.

Just for reference, Panic at the Disco was on tour with The Hush Sound and The Dresden Dolls during this Summer Tour. June 24th was the night the bands played at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Q: Tell us about your craziest touring experience.

GRETA: On the 2006 Panic Tour, we played the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach. After the show, most of the bands and crew walked a mile to the beach and, having not brought our swimsuits, decided to swim in underwear or totally nude. Bob and I opted to skinny dip and, at one point, he was trying to get back to the shore but the waves were crashing over him and he was gasping for breath. I yelled to him, 'Bob, are you going to live? As much as I want to help you, we are both naked so I can't.' (Would have been far too awkward). Thankfully, he survived in one glorious piece.
